Peyton Manning has his Super Bowl ring. So does little brother Eli Manning. The two have quite a good thing going with television commercial appearances as well. It was only a matter of time before they made history again, which they did by being the first quarterback brothers ever selected to the same Pro Bowl game. They will be playing on opposite sides as Peyton takes his spot with the AFC, and Eli is on the roster for the NFC. Eli Manning will be behind starting NFC quarterback Kurt Warner. Peyton Manning is making his ninth Pro Bowl appearance while the invitation marks Eli Manning’s first, despite the fact the Eli Manning took home the championship last season. The brothers are the sons of football great Archie Manning, who made Pro Bowl appearances himself. Fans can catch either player in action with NFL tickets from http://www.stubhub.com/nfl-tickets.

Peyton Manning has been something of a savior for the Indianapolis Colts. He has spent his entire 11-year career with the Colts since they drafted him with the first overall pick of the 1998 NFL draft. Since then, he has started every single regular season game. His first year, he was 326 of 575 for 3,739 yards, 26 touchdowns, 28 interceptions and a rating of 71.2. He continued to improve, shining brightly during the 2004 season with a career-high 4,557 yards, 49 touchdowns and a passer rating of 121.1. He and the Colts took the championship in 2006, and Peyton Manning had 4,397 yards, 31, touchdowns, nine interceptions and a passer rating of 101.0 that season. As of 14 games this season, Peyton Manning has 3,543 yards, 23 touchdowns, 12 interceptions and a passer rating of 90.3. The Colts are still fighting for a spot in the post season, and are likely to make it because of their performance later in the season.

Partly because he had already caused waves at Ole Miss and partly because everyone wanted the next Peyton Manning, Eli Manning was a hot topic prior to being drafted. He added fuel to the media fire by reports that he would not sign if selected by the San Diego Chargers, who had the first pick overall. The Chargers did, in fact, choose Eli Manning despite the reports, but the New York Giants stepped in to finagle a trade involving draft picks and their first round pick, now Bolt quarterback Philip Rivers. Ironically, the same Kurt Warner that will be starting over Eli Manning in the Pro Bowl is the same Kurt Warner that started over Eli Manning during Manning’s rookie season in New York. In 2004, Eli Manning played in nine games, starting seven of them, and tallied 1,043 yards, six touchdowns and nine interceptions. Although he hasn’t achieved the same stats as his brother, Eli has been a top contributor with the Giants. His second year, he had a career-high 3,762 yards and 24 touchdowns. Last season, Eli Manning had 3,336 yards and 23 touchdowns. He was also named the MVP of the Super Bowl as the Giants upset the heavily favored New England Patriots.
