Laminate Flooring is a much better choice of flooring than other types of flooring like carpet, wood and other materials. This is because laminate floorings are much more durable and some high quality laminates are even water resistant. It can withstand stains, scratches, and most moisture. The beauty of this synthetic-made flooring is that it can really simulate the floor that we want to create the right ambiance in the room. Laminate flooring costs less than other flooring materials. It has many different looks too, depending on what we want. It is available with a wood design; it also has a marble, and other natural stones look. Once we have decided which kind of laminate flooring best fits our room. It is much advised to measure the square inch or feet of the room so that we can get the right amount of laminate flooring materials for the room. Fitting laminate flooring is not a complicated process. All we need is an understanding of how things are done and how things work.
Laminate floorings are best fitted in solid or level base, an ideal one is concrete. Make sure that cracks or holes on the concrete are all filled out. We can use mortar or leveling compound depending on the severity of the holes and cracks. In fitting laminate flooring we must first place the underlay pads before we start fitting the laminates together on the floor. The wall moldings at the bottom part must also be removed if there are any. They can be easily attached to the wall after the laminate flooring is fitted in. We must decide then which part of the room is the best starting point. Once we have chosen, we can then start laying the laminates on the floor and fit them together. Most laminate flooring snaps in place when we move it alongside each other. They all fit in place perfectly and sometimes all we need to do is to pull them together using the mallet so that they fit more snugly. There will be times when we need to cut the laminate flooring to make it fit the shape of the room. Once all the pieces are fit together it is then time to reattach the moldings of the wall.
The maintenance is as easy as fitting laminate flooring. There are no special tricks needed to maintain and clean the laminate flooring. Because of its sturdy materials we don’t need to worry about any dents. Usually stains can be easily wiped off with just a cloth or mop. However, some stains can stick to the laminate floor stubbornly. When this happens, we can use cleaning solutions we usually use around the house like ammonia base and vinegar solutions. To keep the good condition of the laminate flooring we must wipe off dust to avoid scratching, especially in high traffic areas of the house. At times it is also good to use adhesive tapes to keep the furniture in place.
